Second Sunday in Lent — Forgive

Matthew 6:9-14
[Jesus said], “Pray then in this way:
Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name.
 Your kingdom come.
    Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us to the time of trial,
but rescue us from the evil one.
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, we honor you above all that is in heaven and earth. As Jesus taught his disciples to pray, we continue in this tradition, knowing you have promised to hear us. Please, grant us grace to know and do your will.
Thank you for all that we are and all we have; as we accept that everything is a gift from you. We look to you for courage to confess our sin and ask for forgiveness; and in turn, humble forgive others.
Turn us back to you and keep us away from evil. Remember us as our days on earth draw to a close and bring us into your kingdom forever. Amen.
